Description:
A silk haori with large ume (plum) blossom motifs. The embroidery utilized in creating these large blossom motifs involves very fine 'hiware' (ice-cracked') embroidery, a rare technique. The bamboo leaves were created by laboriously inserting fine flat gold threads. The detail images show each of these embroidery techniques quite clearly. Very good condition, with some areas of abrasion on the ume embroidery. 52" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 33" height
