Item Details
Early Showa period (1926-1940)
A superior silk haori that was created with much care and labour during the Taisho era. The base silk is a rinzu (damask), and is patterned with yuzen resist dyeing, metallic couching and satin-stitch-style embroidery. Two unusual features are the presence of surihaku foil outling on the inner lining, and metallic thread inserts added in places on the main outside to create highlights. A single mon (family crest) on the center back. Very good condition. 50" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 40" height.
