A rinzu (figured silk; damask) silk kimono featuring interlocking parallelogram motifs in hues of salmon, yellow, white and black. The silk is very soft and of the highest quality. The upper inner lining (doura) is of an undyed hand-spun and handwoven silk. The pink inner lower lining (hakkake) is of kinsha (fine crepe) silk. 51” across shoulders x 61” height. The art on this kimono seems to be related to the art-deco style that was originally heavily influenced by Japan, and during the mid-20s to 30’s was popular in Europe, North America and Japan. The artistry and colors utilized on this kimono are not similar to any other Japanese kimono we have come across.
