This kimono likely represents an early example of rayon introduced to Japan in the early 20th century. During this period, rayon held higher value compared to silk and was commissioned by affluent families. The design showcases brush-painting with metallic-thread couching and includes five large family crests (mon). It remains in very good condition; although the sleeves were adjusted many years ago, reversing this alteration is easily achievable by unstitching some threads. Its measurements are 43 inches (109 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and stands at a height of 44 inches (112 cm).
