This fine rinzu (damask) silk kimono showcases carp motifs intricately woven with metallic threads and includes a silk lining. Measuring 49 inches (124 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and standing at a height of 57 inches (145 cm).
The artist deviates from convention by placing the traditional auspicious carp motif beneath bold lavender-colored bands running in parallel angles, resulting in a 'modern' graphic effect.
