This wedding over-kimono, crafted from chirimen silk, showcases exquisite pheasant motifs created through yuzen-painting and embroidery. Like certain Edo-period kimonos, this garment carries weight due to its loose weave and highly twisted silk threads. It has a padded hem and stands as a unique piece within our collection. Measuring 48 inches (122 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and 62 inches (157 cm) in height, this kimono has an intriguing origin—it hails from a prominent New York Estate, unlike most of our directly imported pieces from Japan.
