This rinzu (figured silk) kinsha (fine crepe) silk kimono showcases abstract stenciled fan motifs set against 3-inch-wide alternating medium-blue/light-blue vertical stripes. These two shades of blue are the result of a single blue color that, due to the rinzu technique, reflects light differently because of the two weaving methods involved. There is a three-inch silk tear on the upper inner lining that remains hidden under normal wearing or when the kimono is mounted. The silk itself is of exceptional quality—soft and boasting a luxurious feel. Measuring about 48 inches (122 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end, this kimono stands at approximately 63 inches (160 cm) in height.
